SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — Today is Wednesday, October 10 and here are this morning’s top stories with KELOLAND On the Go.

Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall late Wednesday or early Thursday.

Nearly 100 disaster responders from the American Red Cross Minnesota and Dakotas Region are helping people affected by Hurricane Helene.

KELOLAND News caught up with two former South Dakotans who now call the Florida area home, but with storm surges expected to be 10-15 feet high and winds well over 100 mph, they’re hoping they’ll have a home to return to.

Another warm day is on the way for much of KELOLAND above normal temperatures through tomorrow. Highs today will soar into the 80s once again, with mid 80s likely in Sioux Falls.

If you’ve been outside at night the past couple of days, there’s a good chance you could see the northern lights without your camera. In parts of the midwest, the aurora borealis has been brighter and more frequent than normal.
