SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) —Good morning KELOLAND! A big warming trend is ahead the next few days as temperatures once again soar into the 80s across much of the region.

On Futurecast, temperatures will be at 80 in Sioux Falls by mid-afternoon, with plenty of mid-80s in western South Dakota. Keep in mind hazy skies are also in the forecast for the west from wildfires across the Rockies.

We expect dry weather conditions tonight with a warmer forecast in store for tomorrow.  In fact, we could be looking at new record highs by Thursday, the warmest day of this 7-day forecast.

Temperatures will begin cooling by Friday, with a more substantial cold front arriving in the northern plains on Saturday. Stronger northwest winds will likely usher in unseasonably cool weather for early next week. Frost and freeze headlines are looking more likely during that time period, so continue to watch the forecast.

Here are the details of the forecast.
