This one is a gimme because Jarvis Brownlee, Jr. will get more playing time anyway. With Chidobe Awuzie on injured reserve for at least a few weeks, the Titans don’t have many options to take his place, as depth is a problem for the defense. In his place, Brownlee got the nod to start against Miami in Week 4, and he played lights-out, recording five tackles (four solo) and not allowing the Dolphins’ receivers to do much of anything.
On the season, Brownlee has 11 tackles (10 solo) and two tackles for a loss of 8 yards. He’s been on the field for fewer snaps than both L’Jarius Sneed and Roger McCreary, yet has a comparable stat line to both. As stated above, he’s going to get more playing time with Awuzie on IR, and when he begins to prove himself, Awuzie may have a fight on his hands when he’s healthy again.
