SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Downtown Sioux Falls will be looking for a new leader.

On Thursday, Joe Batcheller announced his resignation as Downtown Sioux Falls president. Batcheller’s resignation will be effective Dec. 20, 2024.

According to a news release, Batcheller “has decided to pursue professional opportunities outside the DTSF organization.”

“We’re grateful for Joe’s passion for growing DTSF’s culture, community and commerce. With an economic impact of more than $5 million annually, DTSF is vital to the city and the region, and Joe understands the organization’s value and importance,” DTSF Chair Vaney Hariri said in a news release.

The Board of Directors is working through a transition plan and Vice President Brandon Hanson will act as interim president.

Batcheller has been president of DTSF for nearly 10 years.
