NEW CASTLE, Ind. — Homes in New Castle and Ingalls were damaged by a storm that moved through central Indiana Friday night.
According to a Facebook post from the New Castle Fire Department, crews were called to Holly Lane on a report of a structure collapse around 7:25 p.m. When first responders arrived on the scene, they determined residents had evacuated a home that had been struck by a fallen tree.
NCFD reported that it secured the property and shut off utilities before leaving the scene.

About 25 miles west of New Castle, South Madison Fire Territory was called to perform a special rescue at a house in Ingalls. SMFT reported that the structure of the house it was called to had been compromised.

In a Facebook post, SMFT indicated the home’s occupants and pets were evacuated and unharmed.
