SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The family of a Sioux Falls homicide victim has started a GoFundMe to help his kids.

29-year-old Joshua Allen Junior was shot to death 4 weeks ago. It happened shortly before 4:30 in the afternoon during a large gathering at Dunham Park on the west side of Sioux Falls.
3 others were wounded. Allen leaves behind 7 children. His family is still trying to cope with his loss.

“My brother, he was the man I looked up to every day I wanted to be just like him,” said Zykey Richardson.

By all accounts Josh was the family glue, the leader the peacemaker the positive force.
Little brother Zykey says Josh set the example.

“I’m being the best dad I can be for him because he always wanted me to have a daughter,” said Zykey.

Josh Allen loved two things, his family and his music. Allen was also known as Jayy Munney. Annastasia Maxwell is the mother of his children.

“He would wake up every morning lock himself in the bathroom start playing beats and writing songs, he did that religiously every day he would sit in his car and write music nonstop. Any time I would call him he would be in the studio making music it was his passion,” said Maxwell.

“He was my favorite rapper, I swear he was really good,” said Joseph Allen.

Josh’s twin Joseph is also known as JoJo.

“This is Josh right here, this is me,” Joseph said showing a photo.

Twins are notoriously close,

“We was like Batman and Robin man.”

and Joseph and Josh were no exception.

“He wouldn’t want me crying, and I know that, but its hard because he’s not here no more,” said Joseph. “For Josh to get taken away from me how he did, taken away from his kids, it hurts immensely, physically, emotionally.”

Joseph who has kids of his own, says it’s up to him to be there for his nieces and nephews.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for the kids.

“I know if their dad was still here, that was his whole purpose for anything in life, anything he did his motivation about everything was to give his kids a good life and a better life than he had,” said Maxwell.

Josh saw music as a way to eventually put his kids through college. Maxwell says any money raised by the GoFundMe will be put into a college fund, because that’s what Josh would have wanted.

If anyone knows anything about the shooting at Dunham Park, the family asks that they call Crime Stoppers.
