SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The City of Parkston has been selected to receive a $5.3 million FEMA grant for flood reduction.
According to the S.D. Department of Public Safety’s Facebook post on Tuesday, the Pony Creek Food Risk Reduction Project will build a diversion channel around the city to relieve persistent flooding and increase resilience.
The funding is part of FEMA’s Flood Mitigation Assistance program designated to support communities in reducing flood risks.
