SIOUX FALLS S.D (KELO) — Four South Dakota K-12 schools are being recognized as 2024 National Blue Ribbon recipients by the U.S. Department of Education.

The list includes three elementary schools and one high school, according to the DOE’s National Blue Ribbon School’s website.

  • Lennox Elementary
  • Warner High School
  • Christ the King School (Sioux Falls)
  • Lincoln Elementary (Aberdeen)

According to the National Blue Ribbon website, Christ The King School, Lennox Elementary School and Warner High School were nominated in “exemplary high performing schools” category while Lincoln Elementary School was nominated for “exemplary achievement gap closing schools.”

There were a total of 356 schools recognized with 46 sates along with Washington D.C., Department of Defense Education and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Blue Ribbon status is awarded to schools that demonstrate commitment to excellence for all students,” South Dakota Secretary of Education Joe Graves said in a news release. “The work that is being done at Lennox Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Christ the King Elementary, and Warner High School is a testament to talented teachers and staff, students who work hard to achieve their potential, and dedicated leadership.”
