This morning starts damp, mild and mainly dry statewide, as heavier clouds begin to move back in. A cloudy day, much like Sunday, is expected but with more dry time. Out-the-door temperatures will hold in the middle 60s, which is roughly 10-12° above the seasonal average.

This afternoon will bring limited sunshine and limited rain chances, as temperatures only warm back into the middle 70s, which is average (76°) for late September. A few showers are possible with a bigger push expected later tonight.

Overnight and through Tuesday, rain chances and storms look likely, which could bring some healthier, needed totals across the state and locally. Some areas could exceed over an inch by Tuesday night. Dry weather is set to return for a good portion of Wednesday through Friday before remnants from a hurricane (Helene) return to the Ohio Valley on Saturday. More on this in the days ahead!
