KOKOMO, Ind. — An elementary school in Kokomo sustained damage after heavy winds swept through the area Friday afternoon.
According to a Facebook post, Friday’s storms caused roof damage at Taylor Elementary School. The damage was restricted to the area of the building near the school’s gym and did not extend to other portions of the school at this time.
The school confirmed in the post that it is working with a construction company to review its next steps.
“As I am sure you have seen or heard, our elementary building has roof damage near our gym due to the heavy winds from this afternoon’s storms. This is obviously causing some issues in other parts of the building. We are currently working with a construction company to look at what our next steps are,” the post reads.
