Arizona’s politicians, pundits, and other politicos reacted quickly to the news that a second assassination attempt was made against former President Donald Trump on Sunday.
The majority of politicians on both sides of the political aisle expressed concern for the President and condemnation of the would-be assassin.
However, while Congressman Raul Grijalva was quick to condemn the attempt, it was only days ago that his daughter, Adelita Grijalva, a member of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, posted a picture ahead of Trump’s visit to Tucson showing a sign telling the President’s supporters to f$#@ themselves in Spanish.
More hatred coming from the Tucson Democrat Communists, this time from our Pima County BOS Adelita Grijalva. She continues to be a disgrace & once again proves she doesn’t serve ALL the people of our County when she tells the #MAGA Republicans “F**k You”! #StayClassyPimaCounty pic.twitter.com/P7174ESm4L

It is that kind of rhetoric that is being blamed for the attacks on President Trump.
Unlike her father, Supervisor Grijalva did not issue a condemnation at the time of the publication of this story.
I am glad the former president is safe and for the quick response of the Secret Service.
Violence, particularly political violence, has no place in our society.

May God continue protecting President Trump and his family.

Political violence has no place in America. I unequivocally condemn the attempted assassination of former President Trump. Now is the time together to ensure we put an end to all forms of political violence.

The media’s reckless rhetoric about President Trump and the MAGA movement has already cost American lives.
Today, yet another attempt was made on Trump’s life—and still, he stands tall, fighting for all of us.
Freedom isn’t free; it demands eternal vigilance.

Violence has no place in our democracy.
The recent gunshots fired toward Donald Trump are unacceptable and disturbing. I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms

May God bless and protect Donald Trump.
He is safe after a second assassination attempt on his life.
Some things transcend political parties.
Attempted assassinations are clearly one of them.
Let’s come together to loudly condemn this kind of political violence.

I’m thankful that former President Trump is safe. There’s no place in our democracy for political violence. Appreciate the professionalism of the Secret Service and local law enforcement who responded.

Two impeachments, four indictments, now two assassination attempts, & President Trump is stronger than ever.
But this attack wasn’t just about him. It’s about his movement, a movement of peace, common sense, & positivity that has been demonized by the propaganda press.

AZWOA sends love and prayers too. God bless, @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/jD0aD8lIe9

This is getting Fing ridiculous. Give the man full protection, I don’t care if the @GOP has to help pay for it. It’s obvious he is not being given adequate protection. 🇺🇸https://t.co/AhVSuzfxY0
