SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man’s disappearance is catching the attention of many, all hoping to help him return home safely. Tyler Weathersby, 31, hasn’t been heard from since last Wednesday morning.

KELOLAND News talked with Weathersby and his wife, Monalisa Perez, back in 2021 about their online clothing brand, wäke. The couple launched their business in 2018, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic. Weathersby was known as Tyler Blake in KELOLAND’s 2021 coverage.

“I would say 2020, through all the chaos, there were some blessings, and we were able to pivot and find some good moments during that time,” Weathersby said in January 2021 interview.

“Our vision with wäke is to be a global brand within the next two to five years,” Perez added.

Weathersby is also an art school graduate from Chicago. Their use of social media helped them find success early on in their business.

“We just decided to double down on our online content, do more live videos through Facebook, Instagram, really connect with people more on a personal level,” Weathersby said.

Now, Perez and members of the Sioux Falls community are hoping social media will do the same when it comes to connecting with them with answers about Weathersby’s recent disappearance. Many people are sharing possible sightings of him on a Facebook search page.

“We’ve done different tools to look for him. We’re still working on that but haven’t had any luck finding him at this point,” Sam Clemens with the Sioux Falls Police Department said Tuesday morning.

KELOLAND News also interviewed Weathersby and Perez in 2021 about their podcast People Being People.

“This is a podcast about, you know, entrepreneurship, real life situations, things that are going on in the world and things that we’re experiencing in our life,” Weathersby said in June 2021.

If you have any information on Weathersby, you’re asked to call the non-emergency line at 605-367-7000. You can also leave a tip with Crime Stoppers.
