SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A 27-year-old woman has died of a gunshot wound after several shots were fired Wednesday night.
According to the police log and a City of Sioux Falls news release, at 11:21 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report of gunshots at a mobile home in the 6000 block of West Tanager Place. A 44-year-old man answered the door and police later discovered Tanisha Bruguier’s body.
Police spokesman Sam Clemens confirmed Bruguier died of her injuries from the gunshot wound. It was previously thought that she may have died of a drug overdose.
The home is just north of Hayward Elementary School. This was the same home that was shot 16 times on Saturday, according to Clemens.
The home was targeted, but it is still unknown why. Police are asking the public for any information they may have.
There have been no arrests made.
