Westby, WI– Today, President Biden visited Dairyland Power Cooperative in Westby to announce the Biden-Harris administration’s latest pet project—a $7.3 billion handout for so-called ‘renewable’ energy projects funded by taxpayers as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
Referring to the Inflation Reduction Act, President Biden claimed, “We should have called it what it was,” while touting the $369 million investment for climate-related programs as the “most significant climate change law ever.”
Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin State Director Megan Novak made the following statement:
“It’s no secret that the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), rubber-stamped by Vice President Harris and Senator Baldwin, has proven to be in name only. But today, President Biden called it what it was— ‘the most significant climate change law ever.’
“Since day one in office, the Biden-Harris administration declared war on American energy. With the passage of the IRA, gasoline is up 62 percent, and natural gas has increased by over 40 percent, forcing taxpayers to bear the burden through higher utility bills. Yet Biden, Harris, and their allies, including Tammy Baldwin, continue to gaslight Americans into thinking they are working to make life better.
“While families worry about their next stack of monthly bills, AFP-WI is calling out Senator Baldwin on her support for this radical agenda. If she cared about lowering costs for Wisconsinites, she’d take responsibility for the economic mess she helped create.”
