Despite the Tennessee Titans having won the AFC South in each of the past two seasons, it’s the Indianapolis Colts who are favored to win the division in the eyes of sportsbooks.
According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Colts (-115) are favored to win the AFC South over the Titans (+140), something that is surprising to NFL analyst and former Titans quarterback, Chris Simms.
“I’m a little surprised by this… that the Colts are this much of a favorite over the Titans,” Simms said on a recent episode of his “Chris Simms Unbuttoned” podcast.
“No, I’m not ready to say that [the Colts are the best team in the division]. I almost look at [the Colts and Titans] as kind of equals, but I think I’d probably still give the Titans the slight advantage,” Simms added.
We couldn’t agree more with Simms.
If anything, the two teams are neck-and-neck going into 2022, but until we see the Colts get over the hump and best a Titans team that has taken four of the last five meetings, we’re giving Tennessee the edge to win the division.
The Titans and Colts will first square off in Week 4 in Indy, and then will meet for the final time in Week 7 in Nashville.
