FAYETTE COUNTY, Ind. — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office recovered numerous stolen vehicles during an investigation on Thursday.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, investigators from Butler and Preble Counties in Ohio contacted deputies to report that several stolen motorcycles and a U-Haul truck may have been located in Indiana.

Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies were subsequently sent to a property in the 2900 block of West County Road 650 South to look into the report they had received. Once they arrived in the area, police located the stolen Harley Davidson motorcycles and the U-Haul trailer.

Deputies also discovered two New Holland tractors, which had previously been reported stolen in Fayette and Franklin Counties, respectively, on the property. A John Deere Gator, which had been reported stolen in Fayette County in April, was also found on the land.

Police reported that all of the stolen vehicles were returned to their rightful owners, including the motorcycles, which had reportedly been stolen from a dealership in West Chester, Ohio.

Per FCSO, deputies later executed a search warrant on the residence that sits on the property they found the stolen vehicles on. Methamphetamines and other narcotics were seized during that search.

In its Facebook post, the sheriff’s office did not clarify whether or not its investigation led to any arrests. FCSO did, however, indicate it is still looking into the circumstances surrounding the theft of the vehicles.

As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the incident had been made available.
