SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – After having an active night in north central KELOLAND, this area, along with most of West River has stayed dry today with seasonable temperatures. In East River, a stronger cold front is moving through, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms with it. Clouds will try to break up as the front passes and bring in winds from the west and north.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to move into southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa going into the rest of the afternoon and evening. Some of these storms could be strong to severe, the Storm Prediction Center has maintained a marginal and slight risk for these areas.

Going into the evening, showers will move out of KELOLAND and lead into a pleasant night. Lows will stay in the 50s with mostly clear skies.

Heading into Labor Day weekend, it will be gorgeous weather for any outdoor activities with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures going into Saturday, then cooling off for the start of the week.
