SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man is headed to federal prison for 15 years following a conviction on three counts of possession, manufacturing or distributing child pornography.
According to a press release from the South Dakota Attorney General’s office, Cory William Wendt, 32, was sentenced on Aug. 22 in Lincoln County Circuit Court.
He originally had been charged with 10 counts of possessing, manufacturing or distributing child pornography.
Wendt was charged in January 2023 following an investigation conducted by State Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) agents. Those agents are assigned to the South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The Lincoln County State’s Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
