SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sioux Falls police are investigating a break-in Sunday night at a liquor store on South Cliff Avenue.
It was caught on surveillance video and now the owner is asking for the public’s help.
The break-in happened Sunday night at 11:30 pm at the Liquor Mart which is near 57th Street and Cliff Avenue.
In the surveillance video you see three people rushing through the front door that they had shattered to pieces using this rock.
“They were pretty pointed at what they were doing, they kind of knew where to go and what to grab,” owner Kevin Johnson said.
Kevin Johnson says they grabbed over one thousand dollars worth of liquor; including bottles of tequila, vodka and scotch.
While police are still investigating, Johnson says he’s pretty sure the suspects have been in the store before to stake out the place.
“Footage of at least one of the three was aware of where two of my cameras were in the store for sure, just off of tendency pulling his hood down extra tight and making sure they avoided those two cameras,” Johnson said.
Johnson says because they knew what they were doing, the thieves didn’t waste anytime either.
“Within 90 seconds they had accomplished their task and back out the door they went,” Johnson said.
Johnson has already replaced the front door and now he’s just hoping the public can help.
“Honestly if anyone knows anything off of the images that I put up on Facebook and what you guys will follow up with; if anyone has information contact me or the Sioux Falls police department and hopefully bring these guys to justice in some way,” Johnson said.
Johnson says the only thing they got away with is liquor, the money was locked up in a safe.
