The Tennessee Titans will host their first preseason game on Saturday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

However, the Titans will be without edge rusher Harold Landry and defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, head coach Brian Callahan told the media on Thursday.

Landry missed the start of training camp with an illness and lost some weight before returning. The 28-year-old tallied 70 tackles, including 14 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits, and 10.5 sacks last season.

Simmons was limited to just 12 games in the 2023 NFL season because of a knee sprain. The 27-year-old finished with 30 tackles, including ten for loss, 11 quarterback hits, 5.5 sacks, one pass deflection, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

In addition to the veteran defenders, Callahan also announced that Caleb Farley (hamstring), Cedric Gray (shoulder), Ryan Stonehouse (leg), and Nick Vannett (rest) are not expected to suit up on Saturday night.

The starters will play “a series or two” before the backups come in, meaning that quarterback Will Levis and wide receiver Calvin Ridley will have an opportunity to work on their chemistry in a live-game scenario.
