INDIANAPOLIS — A 26-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a Sunday afternoon shooting at a liquor store on the near east side of Indianapolis.
According to officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, 26-year-old Damonte Thames was arrested by aggravated assault detectives on Sunday in relation to the shooting.
An initial report form IMPD said that officers responded to a person shot in the 2200 block of Ransdell St. at around 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Police said at the scene that a woman was shot at the Rural Inn location on Michigan Rd. and was found on Ransdell. The woman reportedly had minor injuries.
In an update sent out on Monday morning, detectives believe that Thames and the woman knew each other.
