SALEM, S.D. (KELO) — Elk Point-Jefferson topped Dell Rapids 6-3 in the winner’s bracket of the Class ‘B’ Legion baseball state tournament Sunday.
EPJ plated three runs in the top of the seventh to break a 3-3 ballgame.
Dells scored the first run of the contest in the first. Post 134 tied the game in the fourth, only to have Post 65 retake the lead in the bottom of the frame.
Elk Point-Jefferson scored one in each of the fifth and sixth to take its first lead at 3-2. Dell Rapids then tied the game in the bottom of the sixth before EPJ won it in the seventh.
Dell Rapids will face Parkston in the first game on Monday at 4 p.m. EPJ will play Lake Norden/Badger in the nightcap. Both games will be livestreamed on KELOLAND.com.
