SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Enjoy a full day of family entertainment at the Sioux Empire Fair. Activities at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds include an Open Breeding Cattle Show at 10 a.m., carnival rides and games starting at noon, a kids pedal pull plus cow milking demonstrations at 2 p.m., the Neo Johnsons performing on the Front Porch at 4 & 5 p.m. and the grandstand entertainment features Jo Dee Messina with Ashley Wineland starting at 7:30 p.m. Fair admission is $10, $5 for children and free for ages 5 and under. The grandstand show is free with a paid admission. The fair runs daily through August 10th.
Musical entertainment at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally includes Travis Tritt at the Buffalo Chip Campground, Slaughter at the Full Throttle Saloon, Elle King at the Iron Horse Saloon and Arcana Kings at the Harley-Davidson Rally Point. The Sturgis Rally runs through August 11th.
All national parks are free to visit today, including Badlands National Park in western South Dakota. The free entrance is in honor of the four-year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act, which included billions of dollars in new spending for national park maintenance. While admission is free, user fees and other amenities may not be waived.
The Washington High School Alumni Choir is presenting a concert at the Washington Pavilion. The concert features Dione Peterson Belling, who was the Washington High School conductor from 1975 to 1991. The performance is at 2 p.m. in the Mary W. Sommervold Hall.
The Sioux River Folk Festival wraps up at Newton Hills State Park near Canton, SD. Performers include Mark Stuart at 11 a.m., Tommy Edwin at noon and High Horse at 1 p.m. Admission is $10, free for children under 14.
American Legion Post 15 in Sioux Falls is hosting an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast. Serving time is 8:30 a.m. to noon at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance. The cost is $8, $2 for children. Donations are also welcome. A bake sale is included.

Skateboarders are invited to take a spin at the new Barb Iverson Skate Plaza at Nelson Park in Sioux Falls. It’s open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The National Music Museum on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion is hosting Music Storytime. Children ages 3-6 can explore the world of music through stories and toe-tapping tunes in the museum lobby starting at 10:30 a.m.
Learn about the historic missions of the USS South Dakota during World War II at the Battleship Memorial Museum in Sioux Falls. The museum, located in Sherman Park, is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through September. Admission is free.
Beat the summer heat with a visit to one of the City of Sioux Falls’ outdoor pools.They’re located at Drake Springs, Terrace, Frank Olson, Kuehn, Laurel Oak, McKennan, Hayward and Pioneer parks. The hours are 1-8 p.m.
Another outdoor option is Wild Water West water park west of Sioux Falls. Visitors can enjoy the water slides, lazy river, wave pool plus upgrades to the mini-golf course from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
