CUSTER COUNTY, S.D. (KELO) — A man received fatal injuries and another man received serious, non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash, five miles south of Custer on Wednesday.

Seamus Allen Eliason, a 24-year-old man of Rapid City, died in the crash, according to the SD. Department of Public Safety.

A 27-year-old driver from Rapid City, was driving his Freightliner northbound on US 385 at the intersection of Carroll Creek Road. Eliason, was driving his Chevrolet Express, northbound on US 385. Eliason failed to stop at the intersection and wait for the Freightliner to make the left turn and collided with the rear of the Freightliner. Eliason was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Freightliner was wearing a seatbelt. It is unknown if Eliason was wearing a seatbelt.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
