INDIANAPOLIS — Thursday night’s commute was brought to a standstill as water flooded I-465 on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
INDOT traffic cameras showed the northbound and southbound lanes of I-465 come to a complete halt near Fall Creek Road and E. 56th Street due to severe flooding. The National Weather Service had issued a flood watch until 9:45 p.m. in parts of northern Indianapolis, Fishers, Noblesville, Lawrence and Speedway.
Hamilton County was under a Flash Flood Warning for several hours Thursday evening, prompting Hamiton County Emergency Management to issue a travel advisory until 9 p.m. as police departments and fire departments were dispatched to areas affected by severe flooding.
Flash Flood Warnings were also issued in Boone County, Hendricks County and the northern portions of Marion County.
