Twins celebrate Joe Mauer and host the White Sox for three-game weekend homestand
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins – who are 52-35 since April 22, the best record in baseball since that date – return to Target Field tomorrow night (Friday, August 2) for a quick three-game weekend homestand against American League Central division foe the Chicago White Sox.

Through Labor Day, the Twins have your ’Sota Summer covered with theme nights, gate giveaways and more. This homestand features three group events (Minnesota State Mankato Night on Friday, August 2; South Dakota State University Night on Saturday, August 3; and Golf Day on Sunday, August 4); two gate giveaways (Joe Mauer Hall of Fame Replica Plaque presented by Coordinated Business Systems on Saturday, August 3; and Twins City Connect Back-to-School Backpack presented by Target on Sunday, August 4); and one Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s (Sunday, August 4). Fans will be treated to a postgame Drone Show on Friday, August 2 and Saturday’s 6:10 p.m. game is a 612 Saturday presented by Carbliss with media partner Bally Sports North, in which fans can enjoy $6 drink specials, $1 snacks and $2 food specials from when gates open until first pitch.
WELCOME BACK, JOE
The Twins will honor newly-minted National Baseball Hall of Famer and club legend Joe Mauer, who was formally enshrined in the Hall of Fame on July 21, with a ceremony prior to the Saturday, August 3 game against the White Sox. Additionally, the first 10,000 fans through the gates that night will receive a Joe Mauer Replica Hall of Fame Plaque presented by Coordinated Business Systems. Fans will also have a special opportunity to take photos with Mauer’s actual plaque from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY; the plaque will be in Truly On Deck from the second inning through the seventh inning on Saturday.

TWINS VS. CHICAGO WHITE SOX: FRIDAY, AUGUST 2 – SUNDAY, AUGUST 4 (3 GAMES)
Friday, August 2 vs. Chicago White Sox (7:10 p.m.; gates open at 5:00 p.m.)
- Ceremonial First Pitch – Kaelen Culpepper: The Twins will welcome Kaelen Culpepper, their first round selection in the 2024 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Culpepper will report to the Florida Complex League Twins in Fort Myers, FL to begin his professional odyssey.
- Minnesota State University, Mankato Night: All associated with Minnesota State University, Mankato are invited to join their fellow Mavericks for Minnesota State University, Mankato Night! Fans who purchased this group event package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive co-themed Mavericks/Twins jersey. A portion of each ticket purchased will support the Minnesota State University, Mankato Alumni Association. In honor of both the men’s basketball and women’s basketball teams winning NCAA Division II National Championships earlier this year, ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by head men’s basketball coach Matt Margenthaler and head women’s basketball coach Emilee Thiesse, who will be joined on the field by members of their respective teams.

- Joe Mauer National Baseball Hall of Fame Celebration: The Twins will honor 2024 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee and club legend Joe Mauer on Saturday against the White Sox.

- Pregame Ceremony: A special pregame ceremony will take place on the field, including speeches from Mauer, and fellow St. Paul natives, former Twins and National Baseball Hall of Famers Jack Morris and Paul Molitor. National Baseball Hall of Fame President Josh Rawitch and Director of Licensing and Sales/Marketing Coordinator Scot Mondore will also be on hand for the celebration.
- Ceremonial First Pitches: Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Mauer, Morris and Molitor.
- Hall of Fame Plaque Photo Opportunity: Mauer’s Hall of Fame plaque from Cooperstown will be on display on the field during the pregame ceremony. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos with the plaque itself in Truly On Deck from the second inning until the end of the seventh inning on Saturday.
- Joe Mauer Auction: Fans have a unique opportunity to bid on exclusive Mauer memorabilia in the Joe Mauer Auction, with all proceeds benefitting the Minnesota Twins Community Fund. The auction opens at 9:00 a.m. CT on Friday, August 2 and closes at 5:00 p.m. CT on Sunday, August 4.
- Among the items available for auction are seven one-of-a-kind hand-painted Pillbox bats each showcasing a different aspect of Mauer’s legacy, from his first career home run at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome to his personality and favorite things. Each bat will be autographed by Mauer and authenticated on August 10.
- South Dakota State University Night: All associated with South Dakota State University are invited to join their fellow Jackrabbits for SDSU Night! Fans who purchased this group event package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive co-themed SDSU/Twins jersey. A portion of each ticket purchased will support the SDSU Alumni Association. A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Saiveon Williamson, a former SDSU linebacker from Waseca, MN, who helped lead the Jackrabbits to a football national title.
Sunday, August 4 vs. Chicago White Sox presented by Target (1:10 p.m.; gates open at 11:00 a.m.)
- Gate Giveaway – Twins City Connect Back-to-School Backpack: The first 5,000 kids ages 12 and under through the gates on Sunday will receive a Twins City Connect Back-to-School Backpack courtesy of Target.
- Golf Day: From the greens to the green grass of Target Field, fans are invited to join the Twins for Golf Day! Fans who purchased this group event package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive Twins-themed Golf Head Cover. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will benefit First Tee – Minnesota. The day includes a ceremonial first pitch thrown by Erika Dierke, a golf coach who works with First Tee – Minnesota and is one of 24 recipients of the national First Tee College Scholarship.
- Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s: Every Sunday home game at Target Field is Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s! Among the activities:
