LINCOLN COUNTY, S.D. (KELO) — A 60-year-old man died in a pickup truck vs. motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 18 near Lennox on Tuesday.

According to the S.D. Department of Public Safety, Jerry Wallenstein, 68, was driving his Chevrolet Silverado and traveling eastbound on U.S. Hwy 18 about five miles south of Lennox. That’s when Wallenstein’s truck collided with a motorcycle while entering the left turning lane and attempting to turn north on 466th Ave.

According to court documents, Wallenstein is facing vehicular homicide, DWI, reckless driving and failure to yield charges.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
