MADISON COUNTY, Ind. — Cleanup efforts are underway after a Madison County school administration building sustained heavy damage Monday night as severe weather rolled through the area.

Tom Ecker with the Madison County Emergency Management Authority confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 that the Frankton-Lapel Community Schools Administration Building, located at 7916 W. 300 North in Anderson, sustained heavy damage to its roof and at least two walls.

Additionally, Ecker said storm assessment crews are currently en route to at least two homes in the neighborhood of Perkinsville where damage was reported. As of this article’s publication, the extent of the damage to the homes has not been confirmed.

So far, the majority of the damage in the county has been reported to the north of Perkinsville in the area surrounding County Road 300 North and County Road 600 West.

Tornado warnings were issued in parts of Delaware, Henry, Madison, Franklin, Butler, Wayne, Fayette, Union and Henry Counties at different points throughout Monday night. The National Weather Service had previously reported that a severe thunderstorm capable of generating a tornado had been observed around nine miles east of Anderson around 10:44 p.m.
