PENDLETON, Ind. — A cyber tip led to the arrest of a Pendleton man after images containing child pornography were uploaded for storage to the Verizon Cloud.
Payton A. Weisse, 20, is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, a Level 5 felony.
According to court documents, police received the cyber tip that led to Weisse’s eventual arrest on Feb. 13. Police viewed the uploaded child porn and were able to trace the account back to Weisse.
Police said the account also contained images and videos that featured Weisse.
In June, police were granted a search warrant for Weisse’s residence in Pendleton. During the search, officers questioned Weisse who reportedly admitted to downloading and viewing child porn.
Weisse reportedly told police he was, “kind of a porn addict,” and that his search for “something more” led him to “more weird things.”
Weisse also reportedly told officers that he was sent to therapy when he was a teenager due to taking secret photographs of a young girl. Weisse also allegedly admitted to continuing to take secret photos of other females including his co-workers at a Chick-fil-A.
According to court documents, more than 560 images or videos of child sex abuse material was found on Weisse’s cell phone.
