UPDATE: IMPD posted late Saturday night that the boy was located and he is safe.
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a missing 8-year-old.
In a post on Facebook, police reported that Charles Powell was last seen in the 2600 block of East 18th Street around 6 p.m. Saturday. Police indicated that Powell left his house on a BMX bicycle after getting upset with his guardian. He was wearing a red shirt and blue and white shorts when he disappeared.
IMPD described Powell as a 4-foot-2, 100-pound, brown-haired, brown-eyed boy.
Law enforcement is urging anyone who locates Powell to call 911 immediately. Those with additional information on his whereabouts can also contact the IMPD Missing Persons Unit at (317) 327-6160.
