SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — South Dakota leaders are weighing in after the incident at former President Donald Trump’s rally Saturday.

Republican Gov. Kristi Noem and all three of South Dakota’s federal delegation have weighed in via social media on the ongoing situation.

Senator John Thune tweeted: Kimberley and I are praying for the safety of President Trump and everyone who attended the rally in Pennsylvania, and I’m carefully monitoring the situation.

Senator Mike Rounds tweeted: Praying for former President Trump and those in attendance at tonight’s rally in Pennsylvania. Anyone involved in this attack must be held accountable.

Congressman Dusty Johnson tweeted: Praying for President Trump.

Governor Noem tweeted: These people are evil. God bless @realDonaldTrump

The U.S. Secret Service released a statement:

An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.
