INDIANAPOLIS — Rain is notorious for a number of things. Songs, like “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses, “Spring and a Storm” by Tally Hall or “Fool in the Rain” by Led Zeppelin, to name a few. It’s also often used in movie titles, like Rain Man or Singin’ in the Rain.
Sometimes, though, rain can be notorious for a much less fun reason: postponing sporting events.
The Indianapolis Indians have announced that their doubleheader game against the Columbus Clippers at Victory Field Thursday night has been postponed due to inclement weather.
According to the team, one of the two games will be made up on Friday, July 12. Gates for this event will open at 5 p.m., with the first pitch being thrown at 5:35 p.m.
The second game in the doubleheader is expected to begin around 30 minutes after the first one finishes. However, should inclement weather once again spoil the fun, a makeup date for the event has not yet been determined.
