TURNER COUNTY, S.D. (KELO) –People are advised to leave road barriers in place on roads and bridges in Turner County.

Some individuals have burned haybales and removed the concrete blocks that were placed to protect people from hazardous conditions, according a Facebook post from the Turner County Sheriff’s Office.

Several roads and bridges have been blocked off for safety reasons after flooding.

Round hay bales and cement monster blocks have been put in place to block roads that need major repairs and are not safe to be open.

Although the water has receded in many areas, closed bridge support systems are hanging from the bridge rather than supporting them. Culverts also have significant damage and some have no supporting ground under them.

Anyone with information about the people committing the arsons or those who have moved the barriers should contact the sheriff’s office.
