SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – A Sioux Falls woman has been arrested for allegedly starting a fire on a car and a tree on Sunday morning in central Sioux Falls.

According to Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman Sam Clemens, Shy Ann Kammerer faces two charges of arson, two charges of reckless burning and a charge of intentional damage to property.

Clemens said Kammerer was carrying a gas can and poured gas on a car parked on the street near the intersection of Prairie Avenue and 2nd Street and set it on fire. She then walked a little further and set a tree on fire.

When police arrived, she still had the gas can on her.

Police said they don’t believe there’s any connection between the woman and the car that was set on fire.

According to the Minnehaha County Jail log, Kammerer was booked into jail Sunday morning.
