PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — The case Wednesday morning that involved hostages in a gas station is now being investigated by the South Dakota DCI as an officer-involved shooting.
Authorities released the man of the man killed.
He has been identified as 26-year-old Daniel Todd Augustine.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says his office will look at all of the evidence to determine if the use of force was justified.
“I have a policy that typically within 30 days we will release a detailed report talking about how the circumstances arose, looking at and talking about the different pieces of evidence,” said Attorney General Marty Jackley.
There was a large police presence at the gas station all morning Wednesday morning and the parking lot was still tapped off this afternoon.
