SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO)– On Wednesday, at approximately 3 a.m. officers from the Sioux Falls Police Department and the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident in the 600 block of S. Minnesota Ave, according to a news release.
Officers on scene took gunfire from inside the business and were involved in a shooting with the suspect. Chief Thum and a representative from the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office will be at the One Sioux Falls Briefing at 10:30 this morning to provide additional details.

One person has died. Officers involved in the shooting were not harmed, according to a news release from the Attorney General’s office.
After the investigation is complete, the DCI will issue a shooting summary likely within 30 days, according to the release.
