INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after a male was shot and killed and another was critically injured on Indy’s near north side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of North Capitol Avenue on the on the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they located a male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Police say he was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

A few minutes later, officers were called to the 700 block of West 32nd Street on the report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they located a second male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased, according to police.
