INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after one person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting early Saturday morning on Indy’s near north side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the 2600 block of Carrollton Avenue on the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a man inside of a house with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound and in critical condition. As officers were helping the man, an armed suspect ran into the house and officers detained him.

Investigators say officers arrested the armed suspect for battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting law enforcement, and intimidation.

Moments later, officers located a second individual just north at the intersection of North College Avenue and Fall Creek Parkway. Investigators believes the individual is connected to the Carrollton Avenue shooting.

While investigating, officers found a third male in between two houses who had been shot and killed. Investigators believe the third individual is also connected to the shooting.

Detectives are still piecing together what happened, but they do believe this all started as a party.

Anyone with information is asked to contact IMPD at 317-327-3475, or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
