AVON, Ind. — Two people have been arrested for the alleged roles they played in a shooting that left two people dead in Avon in January.

According to a post on the Avon Police Department’s Facebook page, 21-year-old Gavin Bollman of Brownsburg and 18-year-old Olivia Kirksy of Avon were both still incarcerated at the Hendricks County Jail as of 8:45 p.m. Friday.

Indiana’s public court reporting system indicates Kirksy faces two Level 3 Felony charges for armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Bollman has also been preliminarily charged with two Level 3 Felonies for armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

APD reported that investigators currently believe Kirksy had arranged a drug transaction between Patrick Day of Avon and Samual Oliver of Plainfield. Oliver and Day were the two individuals killed in the shooting.

Police found one of the men dead on Glensford Drive. The other was transported to a local hospital before ultimately dying. Police did not clarify which individual was found dead at the scene.

Police also indicated that Bollman provided Day with a handgun prior to the shooting. FOX59 and CBS4 had previously reported that the fatal shooting was possibly the result of a botched drug deal.

The shooting marked Avon’s first homicide since 2022.
