INDIANAPOLIS — The second game of a back-to-back wasn’t kind to the Indiana Fever. Fever coach Christie Sides’ group lost 104-68 to the New York Liberty on Sunday night at the Barclays Center.

On Sunday, the Fever couldn’t replicate the defensive performance they put together during their 71-70 win over the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Liberty broke the 80-point mark by the end of the third quarter as five New York players scored in double figures.

Meanwhile, only two Fever players hit that same mark. Guard Kelsey Mitchell and forward NaLyssa Smith added 21 and 17 points, respectively, but couldn’t keep up with New York. Point guard Caitlin Clark (ear) and forward Aliyah Boston (ankle) both left the game late with injuries.

The Fever (2-9) have played more games than any other WNBA team up to this point in the season. Indiana will get a short break, as they won’t play again until Friday when they travel to Washington D.C. for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Mystics.
