PLAINFIELD, Ind. — A 2-year-old girl has died following an unspecified water incident at an aquatic center in Plainfield Friday night.
The Town of Plainfield said that emergency personnel responded around 7:15 p.m. to 651 Vestal Road, the listed address for Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center.
The Town of Plainfield said in a statement sent to FOX59/CBS4 shortly after 10 p.m. Friday that lifeguards began life-saving measures before emergency services transported the child to IU West for treatment. No other information related to the incident was immediately available.
“At this incredibly difficult time, we are focusing on supporting the lifeguards who courageously performed lifesaving attempts and the medics who worked tirelessly to administer aid,” the town said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the young girl as they navigate through this heartrending loss.”
