INDIANAPOLIS – Drivers should expect lane restrictions and stoppages this week as part of the I-69 Finish Line project.
Work on Southport Road
Starting on Thursday, Feb. 29, overnight work on Southport Road will lead to 20-minute stoppages as crews shift the southbound entrance ramp onto new pavement. Once completed, the new traffic pattern will be in place from Southport Road to southbound State Road 37.
The work is expected to start at 9 p.m. Thursday and wrap up by 6 a.m. on Friday, March 1.
I-465 stoppages and lane closures
Drivers will encounter nightly single- and double-lane closures on I-465 eastbound and westbound between I-65 and I-70 this week. Crews are expected to work between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
I-465 eastbound will see some restrictions on Wednesday, Feb. 28, between White River Bridge and Mann Road. The intermittent 20-minute stoppages start at 9 p.m. so crews can deliver construction materials.
Pothole repairs
Workers will continue to make emergency pothole repairs during the day, which could lead to occasional lane closures or traffic stoppages along parts of I-465.
Pothole repairs will also take place overnight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., which could lead to some lane restrictions and stoppages as needed.
I-69 work expected
Overhead sign work means drivers will encounter a single-lane closure on southbound State Road 37 between Honey Creek and Olive Branch Road from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
Another change involves a single-lane closure just north of Stotts Creek and continuing for two miles on I-69 northbound through May 2024 for embankment work. Drivers may also run into 20-minute stoppages in the area.
