BOONE COUNTY, Ind. – A crash in Boone County affected traffic and school start times Tuesday morning.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, State Road 32 was closed between 500 West and State Road 75.

The crash, which involved a pair of semi trucks, was initially reported around 1:30 a.m. The road was closed for several hours because of a chemical spill that required extensive cleanup, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

The scene was cleared just before 7:30 a.m.

The incident also had an impact on the Western Boone County Community School Corporation. All schools were on a two-hour delay Tuesday due to traffic concerns surrounding the State Road 32 crash.

The district also said Thorntown Elementary School was dealing with a “power issue.”
