INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police say three hours passed before they were alerted to a shooting on the near west side.
Officers were dispatched around 6 a.m. Monday to the 1000 block of N. Holmes Avenue, where they found a person shot.
According to IMPD, the reported shooting happened about three hours prior. Police described it as a “delayed” report of a shooting.
Officers found a person with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. The individual was “awake and breathing,” police said, and was taken to an area hospital.
The shooting remains under investigation.
