INDIANAPOLIS — Protestors demanded a ceasefire in Gaza during NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
On Saturday evening, protestors took to Lugar Plaza near the heart of downtown Indianapolis to demand the fighting in the Israel-Hamas War stop. Activists were also seen outside Lucas Oil Stadium during NBA All-Star Saturday Night.
Inside Lucas Oil Stadium, signs reading, “Let Gaza Live” and “Cease Fire Now” could be seen during the 3-point and dunk contests.
According to a press release, the action was the result of a joint effort between more than half a dozen groups, including Palestinian Youth Movement, Jewish Voice for Peace — Indiana, Middle Eastern Student Association and Athletes for Ceasefire.
According to JVP Indiana’s press release, ceasefire protests have been ongoing across the U.S. for about 133 days.
