Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin offered no apology to Beto O’Rourke after calling him a “sick son of a bitch” for crashing a press conference on the Robb Elementary School shooting.

In fact, he says to anybody else who wants to politicize the tragedy, “To hell with you too.”

O’Rourke earlier this week took a somber press conference discussing 19 dead children and began shouting that the shooting was “totally predictable” and “preventable.”

“You are doing nothing,” O’Rourke yelled during a heretofore quiet setting. “You are all doing nothing.”

Don McLaughlin Doesn’t Regret Calling Beto O’Rourke a ‘Sick Son of a Bitch’

McLaughlin went viral after a video of the despicable political stunt showed him forcefully standing up to O’Rourke.

“I can’t believe you’re a sick son of a bitch who would come to a deal like this to make a political issue,” he shouted.

In an interview well after everyone had cleared out from the press conference, McLaughlin continued to lament the fact that somebody would be so sick as to crash a press conference about nearly 20 children having been murdered.

“If they want to have that discussion, that’s fine,” he said regarding O’Rourke’s platform on gun control.

“But that event today was not the place or the time to come in there and attack the governor or anybody else there,” he added.

Not the Time or the Place

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin seems fed up with the politicking.

“This community is broken right now,” he said. “No community should have to go through what we’ve been through in this community, and for a person to come in there and start that crap, I have no respect for Beto.”

As for others who took issue with his actions he declared: “And the haters that hate, that send me the emails and the texts, to hell with you, too.”

McLaughlin added that there’s nothing political about his response to O’Rourke. And nothing political about allowing a community time to heal.

“I don’t care if you’re a Democrat, a Republican, an independent, we’re American people,” he said. “We’re trying to come together as a community.”

Beto’s behavior during the press conference was simply wrong according to the Uvalde mayor.

“I’m sorry, but it was wrong,” he concluded.

Uvalde law enforcement officials are currently under heavy scrutiny as early details from the school shooting show police officers took up to an hour to breach the classroom that the gunman had barricaded himself in.

Videos also surfaced showing police officers fighting with parents who were begging them to go in and stop the shooter as they stood outside taking very little action.

In an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, McLaughlin said: “If this timeline was truly an hour, it’s unacceptable. We are so sorry for these families.”
