Every week I’m interviewing exciting people from Idaho and around the world!

Henry Winkler is an iconic actor who has appeared in dozens of TV shows and movies. He rose to fame playing “Fonzie” on ‘Happy Days’ and has won three Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and two Critics Choice Awards.

I spoke with Henry a few months ago in Los Angeles and I’m happy to be chatting with him again about his newest children’s book “Detective Duck: The Case of the Strange Splash.” Here’s what I asked him:

  • What inspired you to write “Detective Duck”?
  • What made you pick a beaver to be Willow, the duck’s dad?
  • Mr. McBeaver is a very supportive father, reassuring Willow she can do whatever she puts her mind to. How do you relate to that?
  • Willow has lots of friends that help her throughout the book. What do you think makes a good friend?
  • Willow has a “stuff box” that has items that help her. Do you have a “stuff box” or junk drawer and what’s in it?
  • We know you’ve written several books. Have you always enjoyed creating and telling stories?
  • Can you give me any hints about what the next Detective Duck mystery will be about?

Henry also released his memoir “Being Henry: The Fonz…and Beyond” this week.
