Additionally, the private rooms are constructed out of wooden cubes. This design allows natural light to penetrate deep into the interior of the house and the kitchen to be fully opened up so that nature can come right in. There are views of the garden, the trees and the the lake from inside.
Moreover, the roof is made in a unique fanning design that balances the sloping terrain. Translucent folding shutters provide privacy for the bedrooms or open up to let the natural world in. The interiors are light and airy. Natural materials are gorgeously lit with sunlight that flows easily throughout the home, sparkling off wooden walls and stone accents. Skylights bring more light into spaces that windows can’t easily reach.
The home is made out of wood, allowing for prefabrication that reduced the carbon footprint on the construction. This home was built quickly, without a lot of halting materials to and from the construction site with fume-belching trucks. Mass timber, oak, steel, Terrazzo and rock were used throughout this home. The result is a beautiful, practical house full of sustainable materials and made in a flowing design that honors the outside world and even invites it in.
