INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in front of a residence early Saturday morning on Indy’s east side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the 7900 block of East 35th Street on the report of a person shot just after midnight.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male in front of a residence who had apparently been shot. He was pronounced dead on scene.

According to police, there was a large group of people at the residence at the time the shooting took place. They all fled the scene before officers could arrive.

Police are asking those individuals to come forward to help them solve this case.

 “This is why its so important the public gets involved; we know there was individuals present at the scene. We know there is individuals that have information related to this shooting and who might know who this suspect is,” IMPD Major Mike Leepper said.
