In the past, I’ve suggested that:
• Former President Donald Trump is guilty of a breaking a great many laws before, during and after his time in office.
• Trump will probably never serve a day in jail, for a number of reasons, including his age and the complexity of trying a former president. Frankly, I don’t want to see the state charged with the cost and trouble of providing Trump’s palliative care while he sits in jail, anyway.
The best way to hit Trump is in pocket, recouping, at least partially, the money he has stolen.
Recently, that actually got started with the state of New York fining him $10,000 a day for every day he refuses to turn over documents surrounding his state trial for tax and bank fraud.
Trump does not beat justice; he simply delays it. So I hope he delays handing these documents over for years. I hope that daily fine lasts every day of his natural life, as long as it finally gets collected. Can you imagine Trump’s financial lawyers trying to deal with a daily drain of $10,000?
